In this sunday Palmeiras played against Botafogo in Botafogos home. There the game started well with both sides playing well. But there were no gols. In the second half Palmeiras was playing much better with kicks that nearly scored a goal. But in a counter attack Botafogo scored a goal. Palmeiras fans coudn't believe it. When Palmeiras team was finally starting to make chances of scoring this tradegy happens. This goal destroyed entirely Palmeiras team. Just a few minute after the goal Botafogo scored again. Palmeiras team needed to win this game to go to the libertadores. In the last minutes of the game Palmeiras scored a goal, but it was useless. The game ende Palmeiras 1X2 Botafogo.

After Botafogo scored a goal, I still had a lot of hope that Palmeiras would turn the game. But after the second goal I stopped chearing for Palmeiras and started chearing for another team, that if had won would have helped Palmeiras. When Palmeiras team missed a goal that was really easy to score I gave up in watching the game. When I came back Palmeiras scored a goal, but it was to late. Sadness and anger was all the the Palmeiras fans were feeling, including me.

This sunday Palmeiras played against Atletico Mineiro in Palestra italia, Palmeiras home. The game started extraordinarly good with Palmeiras scoring a goal in the first half. But a few minutes after Atletico Mineiro tied the game. The crowd silenced. The first half ended with the game tied. This was not good for Palmeiras, but having this in mind in the second half Diego Souza scored a beutiful goal from the midfield. This had made the crowd sing again. And if it mattered Palmeiras scored one more goal with Vagner Love. The game ended ended with Palmeiras wining the game by three to win. Palmeiras 3X1 Atletico Mineiro.

When Palmeiras made the first goal I thought that we would win the game easily, but things changed when Palmeiras suffered the goal. After the goal Palmeiras started playing badly and only luck prevented Atletico Mineiro from scoring another goal. Luckly Diego Souza scored that beautiful goal that brought Plameiras spirit up. Then aplmeiras finished the game with one more goal. After Palmeiras suffered the tie I thought he was going to loose, but after the second goal I was cofident in my team.

This sunday Palmeiras played against Fluminense in maracana, Fluminenses home. They game started well with both teams attacking. The game was very balanced until Obina scored a goal. Palmeiras fans were all happy, but the judge nullified the goal. This act may have seemed little, but it wasn't. This destroyed Palmeiras spirit, because he had to win or would loose the first position to Sao Paulo, and resulted in a diminish of quality that Palmeiras had. The second half started and in 14 of the second half fluminense scored a goal. For Palmeiras fans it looked like a piano fell on top of their head. And even thoigh Palmeiras tried to score a goal the game ended in Palmeiras 0x1 fluminense.

For me it is an absurd what the jugde did. He nullifies a goal that was legal!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Obina didn't do any faults, recieved a fall, but didi the goal and the judge nullified it. It was proven that Obina didn't make any fault, but still the judge nullified the goal. I think that this goal nullifies was the reason for Palmeiras defeat, I got and am really angry at this judge for being so incopetent on nullifing a goal that is very important. Because of this defeat Palmeiras is in second place now behind of Sao Paulo.

This sunday Palmeiras played against Nautico, in Nautico home. The game started well with Plameiras almost scoring a goal. But the game started to get excited when Nautico stated attacking more dangerously, and suddenly Nautico made a goal. A real deception for Palmeiras fans. But still Palmeiras stayed firm in the field and was starting to recompose themselves from the goal. When finally Palmeiras started to have the control of the game, in a counter attack, Nautico scored its second goal. This goal destroyed Palmeiras spirit and the first half finished. Even though Palmeiras was loosing by two goals, he could turn the game because it was a strong team.But in the second half time instead of happiness, anger and sadness. Nautico scored the third goal. And the gam ended this way. Palmeiras 0x3 Nautico.

After Palmeiras took the second goal, I got really angry, but I still had hope.But after Palmeiras took the third goal I gave up in watching the game. I think this is just the result of Palmeiras lacking Diego Souza in the game and I still have hopes that Palmeiras will win the Tournament. Palmeiras is still the leader with five points on front of Sao Paulo.

In this thursday, Palmeiras confronted Avai, in Palestra Italia. But even though Palmeiras played at home, Diego Souza, Palmeiras mid-field player was playing for Brazil and coudn't play for Palmeiras. In the first half of the game sadness for all the Palmeiras fans. Avai scored to gols. Even though Palmeiras was loosing, a light of hope appeared when int the final minutes of the first half, Vagner Love made a gol for Palmeiras. In the second half Palmeiras tied the game with Robert. What in the beginning seamed to be a a fail, was now converted into success as the game was tied. Palmeiras fans really had hope of turning the game, but the game ended in a tie. Final score Palmeiras 2x2 Avai.

I got really shocked and sad that my team started loosing by two to zero in home. But I started to feel confident in my team when he made a goal still in the first half. When the game got tied, I was really hoping that Palmeiras would turn the game, but he didn't. Even though my team tied I came out happy with a tie because Palmeiras is still leading the championship with five points on front of Sao Paulo, who is in second.

In this sunday Palmeiras confronted one of its rival, Santos. In the first half of the game there were no goals. The fisrt goal was made in the second half, where in a cross the santos team made the goal. For the Palmeiras' fans, it was a nightmare. But later this nightmare turned into a dream, when Diego Souza, from Palmeiras, tied the game. The game continued equal, unti Diego Souza recieved the ball and crossed into the area where Robert stretched his body and made the goal, Palmeiras was in the front with one goal. This game was already marvelous, and it became better when Vagner Love made the third goal for Palmeiras. Final score Palmeiras 3x1 Santos.

After Santos made the goal I thought that Palmeiras was going to loose the game. But for my surprise Palmeiras tied the game, turned the game, and opened an advantage on the goals. I was really happy with this win because now Palmeiras is leading the champioship with 5 points in front of Sao Paulo.

Plameiras has two mascots. The official one is the periquito, chosen in 1940. The other one is the pig, which was an insult to the Italians on WWII. Later in 1960, the corinthian's fans used this pig as an insult to the Palmeiras fans. in 1986, in a game against Santos the Palmeiras fans adopted the pig as their second mascot by singing this phrase: "E dá-lhe porco, e dá-lhe porco, olê, olê, olê."

first game

Pameiras (known as Palestra Italia at that time) made its first game a victory. It won by 2 X 0 against Savoia de Votorantim. The gols were scored by Bianco, the defender which made Palmeiras first gol, and Alegretti.

Foundation

Plameiras was founded by four italian men. These men were Luigi Cervo, Vicenzo Ragognetti, Luigi Emanuele Marzo, Ezequiel Simone. The First name given to the clube was Palestra Italia. Its original colors were green, white , and red, representing the colors of Italy. But during the WWII Brazil supportede the allies and Palestra Italia was forced to change its name and take the color red from their shirts.

Introduction

Palmeiras (also known as S.E.Palmeiras) is a famous brazilian football team in Sao Paulo.The team was found in August 26, 1914, by the name of Sociedade esportiva Palestra Italia, but changed the name in September 14, 1942, to sociedade esportiva Palmeiras.
